Following an official hearing before the disciplinary committee, Pele trio of Gregory Richardson, Travis Grant and Omallo Williams have been officially cleared to play in the third place playoff of the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Stag Beer Elite League.
The ruling was given by the Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, Sanjeev Datadin, on 18th June, 2016 after meeting with the players on 10th June, 2016.
However, the alleged verbal assault against the referee is still to be pronounced on.
“This latest move paves the way for Pele FC to be at full-strength in their match up with Fruta Conquerors FC for the third place in the Stag Elite League Finale. The finals will see Slingerz FC battling Alpha United FC for the Four Million dollars first prize,” stated a press release from the GFF.
The trio was issued with provisional bans by the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) for their actions in the abandoned fixture featuring Alpha United in the Stag Beer Elite League.
The club was officially fined $200,000 and saw points deducted from their tally for walking off the field and refusing to finish the match against Alpha United.
The incident occurred on May 18th with the score 2-0 in favour of Alpha United.
