A fisherman charged with breaking and entering a home and stealing over $500,000 in items, yesterday denied committing the offence and said he was in prison at the time.
Manraj Adnarine, 41, appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court where he was read two burglary charges. The first charge alleged that Adnarine on June 17 at Ruimveldt, broke and entered the dwelling house of Cedric Richardson and stole a TV set valued $60,000 and a blender valued $25,000, the property of Tamilla Lowenfield. It is also alleged that the defendant stole from Richardson’s residence, a gold chain valued $200,000, a gold band valued $200,000 and a tape deck valued $30,000, the property of Richardson.
