Following an arduous group campaign, the round-of-16 stage in the Ministry of Health/Petra Organization Soft Shoe Championship will commence on Sunday June 26th at the Ministry of Education ground.
In the opening fixture at 21:00hrs, North East La Penitence will face off with Holmes Street Tigerbay while Alexander Village will match skills with Queen Street Tigerbay from 21:45hrs.
The third showdown of the evening will witness Kitty Weavers opposing Leopold Street from 22:30hrs while the final fixture will pit defending champion Sparta Boss against Albouystown from 23:15hrs.
The event will then resume on June 29th at the Santos Training Area on the Square of the Revolution. In the opening fixture from 21:00hrs, Channel-9-Warriors will oppose Broad Street while Campbellville will lock horns with Tucville from 21:45hrs.
In the third fixture at 22:30hrs, North Ruimveldt will tackle Globe Yard while the final matchup of the night will pit last year’s defeated finalist West Front Road against the always dangerous Sophia from 23:15hrs.
Upon the conclusion of the round-of-16 stage, the event will move into the quarterfinal round. Winner of the event will collect $300,000 and the Championship trophy while the second placed side will receive $200,000 and the runners-up accolade.
On the other hand, the third-placed side will receive $100,000 and the respective trophy while the fourth place finishers will pocket $50,000 and the corresponding title.
On the individual side, prizes will be awarded to the event’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Highest Goal Scorer. Other sponsors of the event include the Ministry of Public Health, GTT, Lucky Dollar, Nigel Supermarket, Junior’s Jewellery, Star Party Rentals and 2-J’s General Store.
