Two men were yesterday released on bail after they pleaded not guilty to stealing an engine from the Bauxite Company of Guyana Inc (BCGI).
Security guard Alpha Felix, 27, of #22 Village, West Coast Berbice, and Keon Paul, 25, an auto electrician from Mackenzie, Linden, were read a charge that stated that on June 23, at Roraima, Berbice River, they stole an engine valued $3,147,370, which was the property of the BCGI.
They pleaded not guilty to the charge and were granted bail in the sum of $50,000 each after the prosecutor raised no objections and noted that the engine was recovered.
The matter was adjourned by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan to July 15 and transferred to the Kwakwani Magistrate’s Court.
