Almost five months after the police issued a wanted bulletin for him, wanted man Gary Primo was arrested and questioned in connection with the disappearance of two men, including a national footballer, before being released on station bail.
Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum informed Stabroek News that based on information received, the police had arrested Primo, 40, called “Gary Talkout,” on June 12,
just after he returned from overseas.
He was questioned in relation to the disappearance of national footballer Ronson Anthony Williams and Carlos Anderson and later released on station bail after being held for 72 hours without charge. With the probe still active, Primo has been reporting to the police. Williams, 28, a member of Alpha United football team, and Anderson 20, a carpenter, disappeared on September 10, last year.
On January 28, the police issued a wanted bulletin for Primo, whose last known address was given as Lot 44 King Street, Republic Park, East Bank Demerara.
A second individual, who has been identified as a businessman, was also held for questioning but he too was eventually released without charge. Desiree Carter, Williams’s mother, had told Stabroek
News that the last time she spoke with her son was September 10, when he went home to collect some clothing and left to go to football. The mother said as she saw her son off, she noticed Anderson in the back seat of the car in which they drove off together. Meanwhile, Carmelita Pestano Anderson, the mother of Anderson, had said that days after the men went missing someone went to her home and told her that Williams had given her son some money to keep and he was there to collect it. However, the woman said she told him she was not aware of any such transaction. She stated too that she was not aware of her son’s friendship with Williams.
