Mahdia Secondary were crowned the Region Eight Champions, dismissing Paramakatoi Secondary by a 5-0 margin when the Digicel Schools Football Championship continued on Saturday at the Campbelltown Playfield in Region Eight.
A second half hat-trick from Elsword John in the 51st, 53rd and 66th minutes started the assault while a double from Larun Douglas in the 78thand 85th minute cemented the score line.
The event will continue today with several other matches at various venues. The marques contest of the day will be the Region 10 finale between four time defending champion Christianburg/Wismar Secondary and Kwakwani Secondary. This matchup will be staged at the Wisburg Community ground in Linden.
