At about 19:20 hrs yesterday, the police say that a fatal accident occurred at Vryheid’s Lust Public Road, East Coast Demerara, involving motor car PRR 530 and Shanti Singh, age 30 yrs of 75 Better Hope, East Coast Demerara.
Investigations so far have revealed that motor car PRR 530 was travelling along the northern side of Vryheid’s Lust Public Road when Singh who was on the said side ran across the road into the path of the motor car which collided with her. She sustained injuries and was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
The driver is in police custody assisting with the investigation.
