After winning back to back cycling races last weekend, the wheelsmen of Team Evolution returned to the National Park yesterday to continue their dominance on the local circuit.
In their crisp black and white riding kits, Marlon ‘Fishy’ Williams and his teammates (Orville Hinds and Raul Leal) defied the odds to sweep the podium in the feature 35-lap event of the 16th P&P Insurance Brokers & Consultants Limited.
Williams and his break away mate, Hinds lapped the field in a dominant display of racing while Leal out sprinted the bunch to occupy the final podium spot.
While Williams won the event in one hour, 17 minutes and 54 seconds, Hinds took home all eight of the sprint prizes on offer.
Akeem Wilkinson, Paul DeNobrega and Chris Griffith finished fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.
Other winners yesterday included: Adelia Hodge (BMX Boys 12-14 years and BMX Boys and Girls 12-14 years), Zab James (BMX Boys 9-12 years), John Niles (BMX Boys 6-9 years), Nicholas Alphonso (Mountain Bike), Nigel Duguid (Juveniles), Jaikarran Sukhai (Veteran U-50 years) and Andrew Spencer (Veteran O-50 years).
At the completion of the event, its organizer, Hassan Mohamed congratulated the cyclists for making the day a success and also thanked the sponsor for being onboard.
Representatives of P&P Insurance Brokers & Consultants Limited also made brief remarks and assisted with the presentation of the prizes.
