Dear Editor,
I ask the indulgence of your newspaper to offer my congratulations to the roadworks team for the excellent job done in resurfacing the UG access road between the East Coast Public road and the Embankment (Railway) road.
This thoroughfare was badly in need of repairs as it is traversed by thousands on a daily basis and our university students in particular deserve better. There is dire need for this road to be widened if possible to facilitate a walkway for pedestrian traffic, which includes many residents of Cummings Lodge and Turkeyen making their way to the seawall for their daily exercise routine.
I would strongly recommend that speed limit signs of 30 Km/H be placed prominently, as given the narrowness of the road cyclists and pedestrians in particular are in perennial danger of losing limb or life.
Yours faithfully,
Christopher Persaud
