Dear Editor,
Do Caribbean cricket people not find it odd and worthy of comment that Marlon Samuels was not selected by any CPL team for 2016, although he was the MVP in the World Cup final?
Might that circumstance have anything to do with the ownership of the teams being predominantly foreign, and not concerned at all with offending West Indian sensibilities, as witnessed by the firing of almost all West Indian legends from their coaching positions, and having the broadcasting of games dominated by foreigners?
Or is it that Samuels is just such an offensive personality?
I understand that there is much economic hardship in the region, but does everyone in cricket have to act so scared?
Yours faithfully,
Romain Pitt
