A woman was yesterday remanded to prison after being charged with attempting to murder the father of her child.
It was alleged that the cook, Alexis Turpin attacked the man, Sherwin Johnson, and stabbed him several times with a crowbar.
The 25-year-old woman, who appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan yesterday, was read a charge stating that on July 2, at Georgetown, while being in the company of another, she unlawfully and maliciously wounded Johnson with the intent to commit murder.
Prosecutor Deniro Jones objected to bail based on the gravity of the charge, while stating that Johnson was still in critical condition at the hospital.
Turpin was subsequently remanded to prison until July 28.
