The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has officially named its U17 squad for the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) championships in the United States Virgin Islands which begins tomorrow.
The 19 member squad, which is scheduled to depart today, will be headed by Anthony Stephens and his assistant Vurlon Mills. The makeup of the squad includes two goalkeepers, seven defenders, five midfielders and as many forwards.
The squad reads (Goalkeepers) Jonathan Copeland, Sese Norville, (Defenders) Jeremy Garrett, Cicil Jackman, Ackel Forde, Kevin Padmore, Cosmo De Santos, Javier Smith, Alwin Franklin (Midfielders) Rondel Peters, Lorenzo Miller, Tyrel Khan, and Nicholas Mc Arthur, Roberto Case (overseas) (Forwards) Malachi Adonis, Joshua Ferreira (overseas), Daniel Floy, Kobe Durant and Omar Brewley.
Guyana will face-off against Jamaica in their opening clash tomorrow at 14:30hrs at the Lionel Roberts Stadium. In their second fixture, the Guyanese will oppose USVI on Sunday from 17:00hrs before ending their group campaign two days later against Antigua and Barbuda from 14:30hrs.
The other members of the management squad are Carlos Bernard (Manager) Linsworth Gilbert (Youth Development Officer), Gavin Browne (Goalkeeper Coach), Eon De Viera (Assistant Goalkeeper Coach); Devnon Winter (Equipment Manager) and Lindley Langhorne (Physiotherapist).
The tournament is scheduled to conclude on 25th September, 2016 in Trinidad and Tobago.
