Just days after Demico cook Alexis Turpin was charged with trying to kill her partner, the man who allegedly helped her carry out the attack yesterday also found himself before a court for the crime.
Stephon Barlow is accused of attempting to murder Sherwin Johnson, who caught him and Turpin together at his home.
Barlow, 23, was read a charge which stated that on July 2, at Georgetown, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Johnson with the intent to commit murder.
Barlow, of Sophia Squatting area, was not required to plea to the charge, which was read by Magistrate Fabayo Azore in a Georgetown court.
According to the prosecution’s case, Johnson went home and found Barlow and Turpin in a compromising position. Johnson was subsequently hit about his body with a crowbar.
The court heard that Johnson remains hospitalised.
Turpin was also charged with the same offence on Tuesday and she was remanded to prison.
Barlow shared the same fate and the matter was adjourned to July 27, when it will be heard by the Chief Magistrate.
