A young miner is now dead after the ATV he was travelling on was involved in an accident over the weekend in the Mazaruni region.
When contacted, Commander of ‘F’ Division Ravindradat Budhram explained that the lifeless body of 25-year old Urban Benjamin was discovered pinned under an ATV along a trail at Olive Creek, in the Mazaruni River.
However, he stated that the police have not yet been made aware of any witnesses who would possibly know what transpired.
Nevertheless, the commander revealed that while his officers were dispatched to the area to take statements, a recent post-mortem examination conducted on Benjamin’s body reveal that he died as a result of injuries sustained from the accident.
Benjamin was said to have been resident in a Lower Pomeroon River area, but was employed as a miner with a company the Mazaruni area.
