On July 16 and 17, Minister of Communities Ronald Bulkan and Minister within the Ministry of Indigenous Peoples Affairs Valerie Garrido-Lowe visited the villages of Pai Pang, Tiger Pond and Karasabai in Region 9.
According to a Ministry of Communities press release, at the meetings the villagers raised concerns about health, education, employment and infrastructure. The Toshaos of the respective villages were present at each event.
The release stated that at the meetings, which saw good turnouts, most of the time was reserved by the Ministers to listen to residents and answer their questions rather than deliver speeches.
After each meeting, the Ministers presented the residents with sports gear, fogging machines, weed cutting machines, educational material as well as other useful items, the release said.
