Dear Editor,
I am very sorry to hear of the death of Rev Randolph George.
To his wife, Ms Sheila George and the family I convey my deepest sympathy. I had the opportunity to interact with Ms Sheila George when I joined the team of writers with respect to the formulation of the Sunday School Curriculum ‘Fashion Me a People,’ in the ʼ70s and had training in its implementation. Ms George was on this team which functioned in Jamaica and Barbados.
I met Bishop George at his residence on at least two occasions. I was impressed by his quality of service in the religious and social contexts.
It is my belief that we have lost a very good son of Guyana. Our current moral and spiritual conditions, I think, require the contributions of men such as the late Rev Randolph George who are lights in the darkness.
Yours faithfully,
Krishna Nand Prasad
