Guyana’s Priyanna Ramdhani yesterday won her first round singles and doubles matches at the Pan American junior badminton champions in Peru.
The four-time Panam medalist started in great form by defeating Beien Trocoso of Chile 21-11, 16-21, 21-16 in the singles and reached the quarter-finals of the girls doubles with Sara Michelle Barrios Chiong of Guatemala, defeating Andera Flores and Ariana Airi Moromisato of Peru 21-12, 21-8.
In the boys singles Priyanna’s brother Narayan Ramdhani lost his singles match to Jamaican Nicardo Reid.
The Ramdhanis also lost their mixed doubles match to Sane Wilson and Alana Bailey of Jamaica 11-21, 11-21.
