Guyana continued their unbeaten run in the Boys and Girls Junior Caribbean Squash Championships, downing hosts Cayman Islands and Trinidad and Tobago respectively yesterday in the Cayman Islands.
In the Boys section, Guyana defeated the Cayman Islands 4-1 to maintain their unbeaten record. The first match witnessed Rithew Saywack defeating Christian Dube 12-10, 8-11, 11-7 and 11-9.
Guyana doubled their lead in the second round as Shomari Wiltshire crushed Jace Jervis 11-5, 11-1 and 11-1. Julian Jervis kept the hosts in the contest as he defeated Alec Melville 11-3, 11-1 and 11-4 in the third showdown.
However the Guyanese clinched the contest in the fourth round as Daniel Islam defeated David Pitcairn 11-6, 11-3 and 11-8. The result was sealed in the fifth round as Alex Cheeks downed Jasun Sairsingh 11-7, 11-8 and 11-8.
