The family of missing 24-year-old barber Navendra Hemrup, who disappeared without a trace more than one month ago, is appealing for help in locating him.
Hemrup called “Vishal” of Craig Street, Campbellville has been missing since June 7 and his sister, Vanessa Hemrup, is appealing for the help of the public in finding him.
Speaking to Stabroek News yesterday, Vanessa related that her brother was last seen leaving his residence alone by his landlord.
Since that date she said, there is no information about his whereabouts despite numerous efforts.
She explained that it was not customary for Hemrup to leave for such long periods without informing anyone. “He never did this. If he going somewhere he does call mommy or even leave a note saying where he going,” she said.
The worried sister said while she is not aware of any reason why Hemrup would want to disappear, he did have some financial problems. However, she said, “that isn’t anything big that would make him do all this.”
“We call all his friends… and nobody knows anything, even to his girlfriend said that days before he disappeared, he hadn’t made contact with her,” Vanessa explained. She said based on enquiries made the last day he showed up for work was three days before he went missing.
After not making any progress, the family decided to place a missing person’s ad in the hope that some member of the public who would have seen him would report to them or the police. A missing person’s report was also made at the Kitty Police Station.
“We are worried for him with all that has been happening every day,” Vanessa said.
Anyone who may have information on his whereabouts can contact the family on telephone numbers 695-4134 or 697-9134.
