The probe into the theft of a quantity of raw gold from several miners by five ranks attached to the Brickdam Police Station is ongoing, according to Crime Chief Wendell Blanhaum.
Stabroek News was reliably informed that an investigation has been launched into the incident which occurred at Timehri, East Bank Demerara.
Reports revealed that the ranks visited the area after receiving information that the miners were allegedly involved in illegal activities.
The miners were searched by the ranks during which they were allegedly relieved of the raw gold.
