The Rotary Club of Stabroek, Georgetown recently inaugurated its new President and Board of Directors for 2016-2017, at a ceremony held at the Pegasus Hotel.
According to a press release from the Rotary Club of Stabroek, Georgetown, the new President is Anand Harilall, and the board comprises Immediate Past President, Coby Frimpong, President-Elect Gary Hall, Secretary Grace McCalman, Treasurer Patricia Plummer, Assistant Secretary/Treasurer Luana Falconer, and Directors, Sharon Sue-Hang – Baksh, Delroy Carrington, Lennox Shuffler and Sharon Lalljee-Richard.
Speaking at the event, Frimpong said that the club achieved significant progress with its community service projects. He highlighted initiatives such as footwear for children in Regions 8 and 9 among several literacy activities in the Buxton and Bagotville area, the release said.
According to the release, the Incoming President, Harilall, reiterated that literacy and entrepreneurship will remain the focus of community service projects. He charged Stabroek Rotarians to find their niche in Rotary this year and to strive to ensure that each person they serve is treated with dignity and equality.
