A Linden youth, who allegedly armed himself with an icepick to mug a high school student, was yesterday remanded to prison.
Isaiah Daniels, 19, of 455 Retrieve, Linden, told a city court that he was not guilty of robbing a Mackenzie High School student of an electronic tablet.
The charge stated that sometime on July 24th, Daniels, armed with a dangerous weapon, robbed Shamar Savory of the tablet, which is worth $55,000.
Police prosecutor Deniro Jones objected to bail based on the gravity and the prevalence of the offence.
Jones further told the court that after Daniels was picked up by the police, he was positively identified by Savory.
Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan later remanded Daniels to prison until August 16, when the case is to be called at the Linden Magistrate’s Court.
