The National Drainage and Irrigation Authority (NDIA) yesterday announced that the bidding process for the rehabilitation of its pump at Trafalgar, West Berbice has been nullified.
In an advertisement in yesterday’s Guyana Chronicle, the NDIA said that the bid was scheduled to be opened tomorrow.
It said that it deeply regretted any inconvenience caused and said further clarification could be had from the Chief Executive Officer on telephone number 226-6655.
Non-functioning pumps at Trafalgar were blamed for deep and prolonged flooding in various parts of Region Five earlier this year. The government and the NDIA had been heavily criticized over this.
