An Albouystown mason who had been remanded to prison on multiple charges of armed robbery stemming from gunpoint attacks in the vicinity of South Ruimveldt, was on Friday given an opportunity pleaded to the charges.
Adrian Daly, 37, of Lot 30 King Edward Street, Albouystown, reappeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in a Georgetown court, where he was re-read six charges of armed robbery.
The first charge alleged that on June 24, at South Ruimveldt Gardens, while being in the company of others and armed with a gun, Daly robbed Chen Hai Hang of $200,000, 30 $220 Digicel phone cards and 30 $500 Digicel phone cards, all carrying a total value of $221,600 and which were the property of Lui Hui Jun.
The second charge stated that on June 24, at Aubrey Barker Road, South Ruimveldt, Daly, in the company of others and armed with a gun, robbed Tonika Wills of a Samsung Galaxy phone, worth $55,000, and a gold chain valued at $15,000.
The third charge said that on June 24, at Aubrey Barker Road, South Ruimveldt, Daly, being in company of others and armed with a gun, robbed Iana Daniels of a Samsung Galaxy phone, valued at $50,000.
It was further stated that on that same day and at the same place, he robbed Elizabeth Barclay of $600, while armed with a gun and in the company of others.
It was too alleged that on June 24, at South Ruimveldt, he, along with others, robbed Tiffany Brannum at gunpoint of a Samsung Galaxy phone, valued at $36,000.
Finally, it was heard that on June 24, at South Ruimveldt, he robbed Julisa Wills of a Blu cellphone worth $20,000.
Daly who appeared unrepresented in court, denied all of the charges that were brought against him.
Police Prosecutor Deniro Jones who had originally objected to bail due to the gravity of the offence and the penalty it attracts, told the court that the police file is incomplete and the investigating rank in the matter had asked for a short date.
The Chief Magistrate further remanded Daly to prison until his next court appearance which is September 14 for statements.
