Kingston, Eastville and Tiger Bay sealed their berths in the quarterfinal when the Banks DIH Limited sponsored Alex Bunbury Sports and Academics Academy u-13 football Championship continued on Friday.
Hosted at the Parade Ground, Kingston recorded a perfect record of three wins in as many games in the seven versus seven co-ed format. In their first fixture, Kingston edged Eastville by a 1-0 margin before dismissing Plaisance 5-0 in the second affair.
In their final fixture, Kingston downed Tiger Bay by a 1-0 score line. On the other hand, Eastville and Tiger Bay secured records of two wins and one loss respectively.
Following the loss to Kingston, Eastville defeated Santos 2-0 in their matchup before crushing West Ruimveldt-A 3-0. Meanwhile, Tiger Bay brushed aside Plaisance 5-0 and drew with Santos 0-0 prior to the loss to Kingston.
In other matches, West Ruimveldt-A battled to a 1-1 score with Plaisance and drew with Santos 0-0 to clinch their berth in the final eight section. The event will resume today at the same venue with another round of matches.
Group-C will feature Grove, West Ruimveldt-B and Campbellville while Group-D will comprise Agricola, Golden Grove Warriors and Tucville. On Saturday the quarterfinal, semi-final and final round of matches will commence at the same venue.
Trophies and medals will be awarded to the top three finishers.
