(CPL T20) The Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) have announced the immediate suspension of Trinbago Knight Riders batsman William Perkins for the remainder of this year’s CPL after breaching the Tournament Playing Conditions, through the ICC’s Minimum Standards for Players, as well as clauses 10.1.1 and 10.1.2 of the player contract.
These sanctions relate to a serious breach which happened in Lauderhill on Sunday where members of the CPL Security team in collaboration with the International Cricket Council (ICC) Anti-Corruption Manager Richard Reynolds, obtained Mr. Perkins’ Players / Match Official Access pass which had been handed to an external party.
Perkins, 29, who featured in four games in this year’s campaign, accepted the charges and admitted his fault.
Trinbago Knight Riders face St. Lucia Zouks in Thursday night’s Hero CPL Finals clash in Warner Park (7pm).
Neither the Hero CPL nor Trinbago Knight Riders will have any further comment to make on this matter.
