Moray House Trust will host ‘A Life in Agriculture: Beni Sankar in conversation with Arnon Adams’ on Thursday, August 11, at 5.30 pm at Moray House, Camp and Quamina streets.
The event is open to the public and admission is free. This event is part of an ongoing series of interviews with local experts, social commentators and writers that have been organized by the Trust over the years with the aim of interrogating ideas and promoting debate in our society.
Previous participants include Brother Eusi Kwayana, Dr Rupert Roopnaraine, Rahul Bhattacharya and Clive Lloyd. These exchanges have produced insights into topics as diverse as community organisations in Buxton, the composition of Lloyd’s victorious West Indies team, the singularity of Chanderpaul’s batting and the merits of Stanley Greaves’ style of painting and Martin Carter’s poetry.
Mr Sankar has extensive experience in the cultivation and milling of rice and has invested in aquaculture: he farms Tilapia and Hassar.
He is now involved in the cultivation and processing of coconuts. Mr Arnon Adams is the Editor of the Stabroek Business.
