A West Ruimveldt man charged with stealing a $15,000 cell phone was on Wednesday placed on $20,000 bail when he appeared before a city magistrate.
Norville Castello, 30, of 248 West Ruimveldt appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman accused of stealing the cellphone, property of Neville Evans. The incident was said to have occurred on July 21, at Ketley Street, Charlestown.
Castello, a serviceman in the interior pleaded not guilty to the charge.
With no objections by Police Prosecutor Kerry Bostwick, Castello was granted bail in the sum of $20,000. The matter was subsequently transferred to Court 10, where Castello is expected to make his next court appearance on September 13.
