A Soesdyke man was yesterday remanded to prison on a murder charge.
Orell Cooke, 26, of Lot 70 Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara, was not required to plead to the charge of murder, which stated that on August 1, he killed John Knight at Soesdyke.
Cooke’s attorney, Mark Conway, told the court that his client works as a labourer, has two children and is in a common-law relationship.
According to Police Prosecutor Vishnu Hunt, investigations into the murder are still ongoing.
Magistrate Judy Latchman adjourned the matter to August 30.
