When his trial continued before Magistrate Leron Daly in Georgetown yesterday, the court heard evidence from Assistant Superintendent of Police Kendranauth Byjmaul, who testified that on March 31, 2015, at 3.35 pm at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) headquarters, he made contact with Duncan in the presence of another Detective. He said he put the charge, that on March 31, 2015, at Georgetown, Duncan stole $984,900, which was the property of GPL Inc, to him and cautioned him. As a result, Duncan opted to remain silent, he said.

Byjmaul further stated that on November 23, 2015, while on duty at CID, the defendant approached him and gave him a typed and signed statement, to which he fixed his initials and date and which he kept in his possession.

Additionally, the court heard that subsequent to conducting further investigations, the officer made contact with the Corporate Secretary of GPL Laurian Bancroft, who later submitted a typed statement along with copies of eight documents.

Subsequent to the tendering of two of those documents received by Byjmaul, Prosecutor Shevon Jupiter requested that his evidence be suspended.

This request was granted and the matter was adjourned to August 11.
