A fourth-quarter assault led by Stephon Gillis propelled Pacesetters to a 83-66 win over Colts when the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) sanctioned Turbo King of the Ring Open Hardcourt Championship continued yesterday.
With the score locked at 60-60 and 4:57 remaining at the Burnham Court, the veteran sharpshooter scored three consecutive three-pointers to change the tide of the contest.
His first shot occurred at 4:57 before nailing his second from the right side at 4:20. The third came from the left side seconds later following an offensive rebound from a free-throw attempt.
Pacesetters maintained the momentum following Gillis’s blitz, outscoring their foe 14-6 to clinch the win. Top scoring in the win was Gillis with 25 points while Joslyn Crawford supported with 13 points. For the loser, Dave Causway and Niko Fraser scored 15 and 10 points respectively.
