The Private Sector Commission (PSC) yesterday congratulated Parliament on the approval of the nominees for the Public Procurement Commission (PPC).
The PSC said in a press release that it had long advocated for the establishment of the PPC which will be charged with responsibility for monitoring public procurement procedures in the country.
The release said the PSC was particularly heartened at the fact that the nominees were put forward by both the governing coalition Government and the Opposition and their nomination was approved by a two-thirds majority in the National Assembly.
“This bodes well for future cooperation between our elected representatives in Parliament and demonstrates a collective will to put the needs of the country first,” the release said.
