A young mason was yesterday placed on $75,000 bail after he denied a charge of robbery using personal violence.
Twenty-year-old Jason Howard appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore where he was read a charge which stated that on August 12 at Water Street, he robbed Shamaine Charles of a gold chain valued $75,000, and at the time of, or immediately before, or after the robbery, used personal violence against her.
Prosecutor Deniro Jones objected to bail being granted based on the seriousness of the charge and the penalty attached to such an offence. However, the magistrate granted bail in the sum of $75,000.
The matter has been adjourned to September 12.
