After being chopped by a fellow worker at a mining camp, a hospitalised miner is now seeking help to contact his family.
Ramoul Timothy, who is now a patient of the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH), said the altercation that landed him in the hospital occurred last Saturday in the interior, near to Mahdia. He said he asked his coworker Stanley (only name given) if he had cooked but was told that no food was prepared for them that day. He stated that he then asked him how he could not cook, which resulted in an argument. Timothy recalled Stanley going for his cutlass and chopping him several times to his right hand.
He stated that he was taken to the Mahdia Police Station by his boss and was able to make a report. He was later transported to GPH.
Since the incident, Timothy said, he is yet to contact any family member and he suspected that they were unaware that he is hospitalised. As a result, he is asking for the public to contact his nephew, whom he identified as David Samuels or Loul Samuels, so that his family can be made aware of his location and his condition.
