Guyana is being represented at the Caribbean Junior Badminton Champion-ships in Aruba by a four-member team and according to a press release from the Guyana Badminton Association, hopes are high that the team will do well.
The team is being led by Junior Sportsman-of-the-Year Narayan Ramdhani who will compete in the Under-19 International singles and doubles events.
Narayan Ramdhani, who is sponsored by Sunburst, is the number one seed in the singles, the release stated.
He will also partner with Jonathan Mangra in the boys’ doubles where they are the number two seed and in the mixed doubles where he will partner his sister Priyanna Ramdhani.
Priyanna Ramdhani and Mangra will also compete in the singles events.
The GBA in the release said it would like to thank thank Mohamed’s Enterprise, Republic Bank, the National Sports Commission (NSC) BK International, Hand in Hand Insurance, Crown Mining, Gio Tech and Cosmopolitan Trading for their assistance.
The championships, which ends August 25, is divided into three divisions
CAREBACO Under-19 International (Open for all International Players) – Aug. 18-21; CAREBACO Under-19 Team Championships (Open only to CAREBACO Members) – Aug. 22-24 and the CAREBACO Under-15 & 19 Championships (Open only to CAREBACO Members) – Aug. 24-25.
