Guyanese-born sculptor William C Seepaul has designed a monument on commission for Synchrony Financial, formerly GE Capital Bank for the company’s corporate campus in Stamford, Connecticut.
Prior to this high-profile commission Seepaul pursued various creative undertakings in precious metals, oils, clay, pencil and other media.
Substantively, he worked primarily as a Creative Director and Packaging Design Director for the consumer goods industry.
William and his family left Guyana for London when he was two years old, in 1978.
At the age of five he sold his first painting at the Roy Miles Gallery in London.
The family relocated from London to New York in 1986.
In 1998 he secured a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from Rochester Institute of Technology.
