A Guyana Under-15 boys team will depart local shores tomorrow to participate in the 2016 CentroBasket U15 championships from Wednesday to Sunday in Puerto Rico.
The team, which will be coached by Lugard Mohan, reads Kwesi Roberts (Captain), Josiah Daniels, Shaquawn Gill, Roydon Glasgow, Corey Graham, Jether Harris, Isaiah Hintzen, Jermaine King, Immanuel La Rose, Lugard O. Mohan, Kobe Tappin and Anthony Yansen.
Kevin Bonnet and Cameron Willon are the assistant coaches and Alex Graham the manager. Sherwin Henry will be the referee from Guyana.
According to a press release from the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation:“New Guyana Pharmaceutical Company Incorporated (NEW GPC INC) is the flagship sponsor for the Guyana team. The other sponsors are Camex Restaurant Inc.; Dean Hassan of Tesoura Resources and Fly Jamaica.
“It is the first time that Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation will be sending a Youth team to the Caribbean and Central American Championships. Another first is that a Guyana youth team will be playing on american territory, namely Puerto Rico.
“The GABF wishes to thank all sponsors, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the US Embassy for expediting the issuance of visas to 12 members of the Guyana team,” the release ended.
