Pepsi Hikers maintained their unbeaten run while Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) Vintage and Bounty GCC secured commanding wins when the Lucozade Indoor Hockey Championship continued Saturday at the National Gymnasium.
Pepsi Hikers defeated Saints 8-3 with Aroydy Branford recording a hat-trick (17th, 33rd and 37th) while Leon Bacchus (3rd and 14th) and Robert France (22nd and 24th) netted doubles.
Jamarj Assanah assisted with a 20th-minute effort. Saints consolation goals came in the 11th, 16th and 26th minutes respectively.
Meanwhile, Bounty GCC dismantled Old Fort Knockers 11-2. Kevin Spencer registered a helmet-trick (10th, 26th, 38th and 39th) while Daniel Hooper scored a hat-trick (35th, 36th and 37th).
Jason Khalil claimed a double (5th and 25th) while Steven Xavier (12th) and Kareem McKenzie (40th) were also among the goal scorers.
John Abrahams scored twice (31st and 33rd) in the defeat.
GCC Vintage muzzled club mates GCC Pitbulls 9-6 with doubles from Alan Fernandes (2nd and 15th), Devin Hooper (8th and 24th) Phillip Fernandes (23rd and 25th) and Dwayne Scott (1st and 36th). Chipping in with a 32nd minute conversion was Marcus Fiedtkou.
For the Pitbulls, Meshach Sergeant scored thrice (18th, 24th and 34th) while older sibling Mark Sergeant netted twice (29th and 31st).
Keon McKenzie scored the other goal in the 39th minute.
In other results, Pizza Hut GCC edged Hikers 4-2 in their Women’s Divisional showdown. Kerensa Fernandes (12th and 19th) and Aliyah Gordon (17th and 33rd) were the goal scorers.
Latacia Chung (27th) and Kenisha Wills (40th) netted for the losing team.
In the second female matchup GCC Spartans downed Old Fort 2-0 with Marzana Fiedtkou netting in the second minute and Serena Chan in the 30th minute.
The event continues tomorrow at the same venue.
