Dear Editor,
It is very disgusting, unfair, and unkind for the people on the East Bank and especially in the Eccles area to have to suffer blackouts about 3-4 times per week without any kind of warning or at least some radio announcements.
It appears to us that the GPL administration and workers just get up in the morning and decide to turn off the lights for them to do some work.
I do not think I would be wrong to say that this has been going on for about ten years now, regardless of which government is in power. We have been suffering from this situation for too long now; can’t we seek some international help in alleviating the suffering, especially for our low income groups and small businesses which are losing food and money, because of the electricity they depend on.
I am told that this situation is the same in several parts of Georgetown as well; does no one in the government care for our suffering?
Yours faithfully,
S M V Naseer
