The Ministry of Public Infrastructure (MPI) is moving to have all its documents on contracts and other business stored in one place and it advertised on Wednesday for bidders to construct a $104M centre.
Junior Minister of Public Infrastructure Annette Ferguson told Stabroek News that with the construction of the Fort Street, Kingston facility, the ministry will be better able to access documents pertaining to projects from across the country.
“The document centre is to preserve all of our information. We deal with a lot documents, maps and a lot of things, so the whole idea of having the document centre is instead of heading to let’s say, Lands and Surveys Commission for a map we have the information central here so we can easily have access to it,” Ferguson said.
“It will store all the information relative to the Ministry of Public Infrastructure,” she added.
The advertisement states that the contract for the construction will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding procedure as specified in the Procurement Act 2003.
Information on the tender can be had from the Accounts Division of the Ministry of Public Infrastructure’s Fort Street, Kingston office.
