Propelled by a 15-goal blitz by star forward Aroydy Branford, undefeated Pepsi Hikers recorded the largest margin of victory in the Lucozade Indoor Hockey Championship humbling Old Fort Knockers 26-3 Saturday.
Played at the National Gymnasium, Brandford scored in the fourth, seventh, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 17th, 22nd, 24th, 25th, 26th, 27th and 36th minute, in the process leapfrogging Kevin Spencer of Bounty GCC as the event’s leading scorer.
Robert France also got into the goal rush, scoring four times in the 21st, 25th, 26th and 31st minute while Andrew Stewart also recorded a helmet trick in the 28th, 32nd, 37th and 38th minute. Completing the rout were Leon Bacchus with goals in the fifth and 10th minute and Jamarj Assanah through a ninth minute conversion. For the losers, Orin Singh scored in the 18th and 31st minute while Dominic Alleyne scored in the seventh minute.
