Dear Editor,
Brazil’s Senate on Wednesday voted to remove its first female President, Dilma Rousseff from office, the culmination of a year-long struggle that paralysed Latin America’s largest nation and exposed deep rifts among its people.
The lesson Guyanese can learn from this bold act is that anyone can be removed from office if he/she is accused and found guilty of corruption while in public office. It doesn’t matter who she or he is.
At least they did it the democratic way in Brazil.
Yours faithfully,
