Dear Editor,
I would just like to give my condolences to the family of playwright Mr Freddie Kissoon, who passed away a couple of days ago as reported by the Trinidad Express. Mr Kissoon, a Trinidadian, was an academic, dramatist, playwright, poet and producer of numerous television shows. He was instrumental in the creation of the Strolling Players drama group, that strolled all over Trinidad and Tobago doing shows. At UWI St Augustine he was one of my drama teachers who became a friend over the years. As a former member of the Trinidad Guardian drama group and Derek Walcott’s Company of players, we did several of Freddie’s plays and were always delighted to have him in the audience.
I would like to say farewell to my friend.
Yours faithfully,
Milton Bruce
