New Amsterdam (NA) Warriors downed the Guyana Human Development Centre (GHDC) 71-36 when the Berbice Amateur Basketball Association (BABA) sanctioned A. Ally’s and Sons Championship continued on Sunday.
Shamar France was the top scorer for the winners with a game-high 23 points while Quesi Mickle and Shamar Halley chipped in with 21 and 17 points respectively.
For the GHDC, Bobby Tashir top scored with 17 points. He was assisted by Carl Hooper and David Gomes who scored 10 and eight points correspondingly.
The contest was over by the end of the first half as the Warriors took a commanding 32-18 lead.
Warriors further strengthened their position in the third period as they outscored their opponents 22-2 to enter the final period ahead at 54-20. The result was sealed in the fourth quarter as they outshot GHDC 17-16.
The event will resume on Sunday at the Rose Hall Court, with New Amsterdam Warriors tackling Rose Hall Town Jammers from 16:00hrs.
