A Berbice Police Constable attached to the Felix Austin Police College was yesterday placed on $30,000 bail by Magistrate Rabindranauth Singh at the Mibicuri Magistrate’s Court on an unlawful wounding charge.
Dwayne De Santos, 28, Police Constable #23799 of Corentyne was arrested last Friday after he was involved in an argument with another constable attached to the college. In the heat of the moment he allegedly armed himself with a cutlass from his locker and dealt his colleague Sherwin Brush, Police Constable #23780 a chop to his head. De Santos is to appear at the Whim Magistrate’s Court on his next court date, September 19.
