Dear Editor,
The President of the WICB feels obliged to explain after the ICC has decided to abandon the proposal for a two tier Test system, that the board did not support it.
Only because the WICB is run like a secret society did the fans not know where the board stood on such an important issue. In now disclosing the board’s secret position, the president has also felt obliged to disclose that it did not consider itself as having a right and an obligation to influence the policies of the ICC, of which it is one of the most senior members. As a fan who did not know the position of the board, I felt obliged to say my two bits to the ICC in opposition to the silly idea. At least they acknowledged receipt of my letter and promised to give it some consideration. Whether they did or did not, at least I know that they received my correspondence. The WICB goes out of its way to maintain an image of irresponsibility until it puts on its punishment hat.
Yours faithfully,
Romain Pitt
