Dear Editor,
The President must know there is a lot being said about the drug bond deal – among other deals involving public money. But for fear of victimisation, those who know will not speak in public. Rumour, denial and cover-up are as bad for the politicians’ image as verifiable facts. It is too much to ignore. Justice must be seen to be done. Guyana must have yet another forensic audit, to investigate arms purchases over the past 10 years – including the past 15 months.
Officially disclose the suppliers and the profit margins. Follow the money. Action may be too much to hope for, but provide clarity and openness or lose yet more credibility.
Yours faithfully,
Gordon Forte
