New Amsterdam (NA) Warriors upset Rose Hall Town Jammers 40-34 when the A. Ally & Sons Basketball tournament continued Sunday at in Berbice.
Played at the Rose Hall Court, Quesi Mickle scored the game-high 13 points while Shamar France added 10 points.
For Rose Hall Town Jammers, Michael King scored eight points and Kedon Emmanuel six points. NA Warriors earned three points.
The first period was all about the hosts who outscored the visitors 10-2.
The comeback commenced in the second quarter with the visitors marginally outscoring the home side 9-8 to reduce the deficit entering the halftime break.
The visitors carried their momentum into the pivotal third quarter, scoring 16 points while restricting their opponents to 11 points to pull within two points (27-29) heading into the final period.
NA Warriors completed the comeback in the fourth period, recording 13 points while restricting the hosts to a paltry five points and earning three points for the win.
The action will resume Sunday with Ithaca Hardliners opposing NA Warriors at the NA Basketball court from 16:00hrs.
Trophies and Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams while the Most Valuable Player (MVP) trophy will also be up for grabs.
