A Non-Pariel, East Coast Demerara couple was yesterday robbed of $2M just after withdrawing the money from a city bank.
Stabroek News understands that around 1:10pm yesterday, Marcia Rahaman and her husband visited a city bank to conduct the transaction.
Immediately after, they decided to stop along Regent Street, Georgetown, where Rahaman’s husband parked the car and entered a store to make a purchase.
While seated and awaiting his return, Rahaman was held at gunpoint by two bandits who relieved her of the bag containing the cash and escaped.
Police are currently investigating the incident.
