The stage is set for the Kennard’s Memorial Turf Club (KMTC) grand post Emancipation meet which is scheduled to be run off tomorrow at the club’s track at Bush Lot Farm, Corentyne, Berbice.
The annual event has been one of the country’s traditions over the years and this year’s meet is being deemed the ‘biggest’ in recent years.
In excess of $6m in prizes will be up for grabs on the eight-race card with the feature B1 and Lower 1400m event having a $1m prize for the winner.
Score’s Even, Jack In My Style, Lady Budapest, Spit Fire, Golden Blue Echo, Goodwill Boy, Red and Lovely, Wild Excitement and Quiet Storm are the race horses down to contest this event.
In the co-feature E and Lower race, the winning steed will take home $600,000 for its owner.
Other races carded are the L class non winners ($120,000), H1 and Lower ($240,000), the L Class open ($120,000), the two-year old Guyana bred ($200,000), J1 and Lower ($180,000) and the G1 ($280,000).
